WMC lawsuit aims to halt DNR PFAS sampling program

Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce (WMC) has filed a lawsuit against Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources (DNR) stating that state law doesn’t allow the agency to carry out a program to sample wastewater at industrial and municipal sites for PFAS, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report.

The lawsuit was filed in Jefferson County Circuit Court and aims to block the DNR from requiring that certain facilities allow testing of wastewater for PFAS. The WMC’s lawsuit states the DNR is risking significant reputational harm to the businesses that are being unlawfully forced to participate in this program.
