UnityPoint Health – Meriter to open new admission unit 

UnityPoint Health – Meriter has announced it will open a new admission unit to address capacity concerns in its emergency departments, according to Channel3000.

The new unit will include a medically monitored waiting area for adults requiring hospital admittance and awaiting an open bed. The unit will care for four to eight patients at a time. It will also assist ambulatory patients who may need an unscheduled hospital admission.
