McKenzie workforce center nears completion with Milwaukee Tool donation
According to the Sun Prairie Star, following multiple donations, the McKenzie Regional Workforce Center will soon open to train future workers. Milwaukee Tool was the most recent donor, outfitting the center with an array of tools on June 29.
The center hosted its first-ever youth building workshop in the spring in collaboration with Milwaukee Tool, in which youth-built workbenches that will be part of the center.
The center is a collaboration of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County, Madison Area Builders Association, other local businesses, organizations, school districts, and colleges.
Since plans for the project were unveiled almost two years ago, these collaborators have built support of more than $31 million, just $4 million shy of their goal. Donations are encouraged and can be made online.
