Cinema Lanterna announces new film series, inaugural ‘The Circus’ screening

A new film series aimed at empowering community connections is coming to Madison. The inaugural event will kick off on Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. with a screening of Charlie Chaplin’s rarely-screened film The Circus at the Madison Circus Space, located at 2082 Winnebago St.

The event is open to the public and viewers of all ages. All proceeds will go to the Madison Circus Space, a nonprofit for the performing arts.

The event will include an introduction to the film by the programmer, the film The Circus, and a conversation about the use of performing arts in the film and influences of vaudeville on early cinema.

Cinema Lanterna programs public film screenings for local organizations and nonprofits. Future film screenings are currently being produced for 2024. For more information, click here.
