A Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin outlet store is coming to Madison at the end of this month, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. The store will open at 5525 Tradesmen Drive on Aug. 28, offering free reusable bags to the first 200 customers as well as door prizes.
The location will include a retail outlet store, warehouse, and e-commerce operations space. It will also be the first site in which Goodwill will offer job training to those facing employment barriers, focusing on people with disabilities and those who have been imprisoned.
The spot will be the first outlet store to open in Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin’s 14-county region. Goodwill outlet stores allow customers to purchase items by the pound. Revenue generated by the outlet will go toward Goodwill job and housing programs and support eight Dane County apartment complexes with a total of 74 units.
The outlet store is set to hire 20 full- and part-time employees.
