The Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra’s (WCO) Concerts on the Square will kick off its 41st season on June 26, taking place on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. through July 31. Andrew Sewell will also celebrate the start of his 25th season as the conductor of WCO.
The free-to-attend concert series is funded through sponsorships and individual donations. According to a recent study, Concerts on the Square costs $1.1 million to produce and generates over $15 million in economic impact to downtown Madison.
Concerts on the Square attendees can put down blankets to reserve spots around the Capitol starting at 3 p.m. on performance days. WCO also has limited reserved seating and tables. Should there be inclement weather, WCO will make the rain call by 3 p.m. on the day of performances to delay them to the following day.
