The State Street spot most recently occupied by Dubai Restaurant & Bar is the planned home of a Japanese restaurant and bar, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. Izakaya Kuroyama will open at 419 State St. and offer food, craft cocktails, beer, and sake.
Owner Hugo Leung owns two Chicago restaurants and is opening a third. He plans to open the restaurant by mid-December, pending a liquor license, and he will bring two of his Chicago chefs to Madison to help train staff, and one will stay in the city.
The Madison spot will be open from 5 p.m.–2 a.m., and possibly for lunch as well.
