Badger Campus Credit Union to merge into Landmark
Madison’s Badger Campus Credit Union plans to merge into Landmark Credit Union, allowing the New Berlin-based Landmark to expand its branch network into the Madison market. The target date for the merger is March 31.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Badger Campus lost almost $205,000 in 2012, citing data from the National Credit Union Administration.
If the merger is approved by regulators, members of the Badger Campus Credit Union would become members of Landmark. With $2.1 billion in assets and 209,000 members, Landmark is the largest credit union in Wisconsin.
Since the recession of 2008-09, Landmark has integrated eight smaller credit unions into its network, and in a rare merger of a bank into a credit union, it is in the process of taking over Hartford Savings Bank.
