WORT employee injured in shooting

A 33-year-old volunteer disc jockey was injured when a masked gunman entered WORT-FM radio studios in the overnight hours of Aug. 5 and fired several bullets through studio glass.

The victim and two other volunteers immediately took shelter. The shooting victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was released from the hospital later that day. The others were not injured.

Police believe the shooting was not a random act, and the suspect remains at large.
