WMC, DNR reach agreement for PFAS sampling

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce (WMC), the state’s largest business group, have filed an agreement stating sampling and PFAS testing can continue, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report.

WMC had filed a lawsuit blocking the collection of the samples but the agreement allows sampling to continue, and the DNR has agreed that it will not release the results to the public. PFAS are a class of human-made chemicals that have been shown to cause cancer. They are not currently regulated by state code.
