Wisconsin DWD releases statewide unemployment estimates, employment statistics for July
The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) yesterday released the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates of unemployment and employment statistics for Wisconsin metropolitan areas, major cities, and counties in the state for July.
The nonseasonally adjusted data for Wisconsin shows:
- Preliminary July unemployment rates declined in all 12 Wisconsin metro areas over the month and decreased or stayed the same in six of the 12 areas over the year.
- Preliminary July unemployment rates declined or stayed the same in 34 of Wisconsin’s 35 largest cities over the month. Over the year, 19 Wisconsin cities had unemployment rates decrease or stay the same.
- Preliminary July unemployment rates decreased or stayed the same in 68 of 72 Wisconsin counties over the month and decreased or stayed the same in 48 of 72 Wisconsin counties over the year.
