Wisconsin adds 41,700 non-farm jobs

Wisconsin added 41,700 non-farm jobs from September of 2017 to September of 2018, including 22,800 new manufacturing jobs, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The data, released by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, pegs the total number of manufacturing jobs at 489,700, the highest level since September of 2008.

In addition, the state’s unemployment rate for September 2018 was 3 percent, the 8th consecutive month it has been 3 percent or lower, and the labor force participation rate stood at 68.6 percent, which is nearly six percentage points higher than the national rate of 62.7 percent.
