Wilson Street building delayed over parking issues

A plan to replace an old office building at 330 E. Wilson St. with a mixed-use building has hit a snag. The structure, introduced by Palladian, Inc. and Kothe Real Estate Partners of Madison, would be located across from Rubin’s Furniture and include 1,300 square feet of ground-floor office space and 30 apartment units above. Robert Rubin owns the parcel slated for development.

But a plan to include five hidden-surface parking spaces has delayed the effort, as the developers try to address city concerns that the spaces would detract from the streetscape. City staff recommends that the surface parking be partially or fully removed from the plan and that the entire first-floor plan be redesigned.
