Willy Street development eyed

A 10-story, mixed-use building that’s been proposed for 722 Williamson St. in Madison would include about 220 apartments, 5,600 sq. ft. of commercial space, 386 parking stalls, and co-working space. Proposed by The Baldwin Development Group, the building, with three-tiers — four, seven, and 10 stories tall — is already raising the ire of Willy Street and Marquette neighbors who believe it’s out of character for the neighborhood. The property, which would have to be rezoned, is currently owned by Williamson Associates.
