WEDC's Hogan to resign on Sept. 3

According to numerous media reports, Mark Hogan, secretary of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. (WEDC), will officially resign his post on Sept. 3.

Hogan was appointed to the post four years ago by then-Gov. Scott Walker to lead the embattled agency, which has been charged on numerous occasions with failing to properly track job creation at the companies it's provided incentives to.

Gov. Tony Evers has not yet selected a replacement for Hogan, but a spokesman said a search is ongoing. State law prevents Evers from appointing a replacement before Sept. 1.
