WEDC gives Exact Sciences $9M in tax credits

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. (WEDC) has awarded Madison-based Exact Sciences up to $9 million in tax credits to support the company’s growth in the state. According to a WEDC release, the cancer diagnostics company will earn the tax incentives if it invests $26,264,000 in capital expenditures in Wisconsin and creates 758 new full-time positions averaging $24.47 per hour by the end of 2020.

This is the fourth-largest award in WEDC’s history in terms of projected job creation.

Exact Sciences developed and manufactures Cologuard, a noninvasive screening test for colorectal cancer that was recently approved by the FDA and Medicare. The company currently employs about 400 people, with most located in Dane County, and it’s currently on a fast track for expansion.
