WBA applauds bill to strengthen rural credit opportunities
The Wisconsin Bankers Association has confirmed its support of a bipartisan bill introduced by Representative Ron Kind (D-Wisconsin) to help provide financing opportunities for rural communities, according to a statement from the organization. The Enhancing Credit Opportunities in Rural America Act (H.R. 1977) was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives and aims to remove the taxation on income from certain farm real estate loans that are made by financial institutions backed by the FDIC. The reduced cost to banks would enable more competitive interest rates for farm customers.
