Virtual nursing startup raises $1.5M, offers cost-effective options amid hospital staffing crisis

Nurse Disrupted, a Madison-area nursing startup, recently raised a $1.5 million second seed round led by HealthX Ventures in Madison to expand services to inpatient hospitals, according to WisconsinInno. Milwaukee Venture Partners was included among other investors.

Nurse Disrupted began in 2020 by providing virtual nursing solutions to homeless shelters, rural health clinics, and other community organizations. Now, its team of six people helps health providers offer virtual nursing options through provision of hardware, software, and technical support, enabling staff nurses to work from home. Hospital systems can therefore save money on outsourced agency nurses.

The startup hopes its services can help address the hospital staffing crisis in Wisconsin and beyond.
