Verona council approves fire station plan
The Verona City Council unanimously approved revised plans for a 40,000-square-foot fire and EMS station that will become the largest municipal project in the city’s history at a projected cost of $10.3 million. When completed, the facility will offer six fire department equipment bays, but the council also agreed on more than a half-million dollars of cost-saving cuts. The station will support a combination of both full-time and volunteer staff, and will have an intern program.
