Vaccinated people don’t need boosters for now

After meeting with vaccine maker Pfizer, U.S. health officials say that Americans who have been fully vaccinated do not need to get a booster shot at this time, according to a report from Pfizer had planned to ask for authorization of a booster dose of its COVID-19 vaccine, based on evidence of greater risk of infection of the highly contagious Delta variant. The U.S. Health and Human Services officials were briefed by Pfizer regarding the latest preliminary data on vaccinations and will continue to evaluate the need for boosters.
