Urban Triage to host Youth Drop-In Center grand opening on Wednesday

On Wednesday, May 31, Urban Triage will hold a ribbon-cutting event to commemorate its Youth Drop-In Center’s grand opening at 306 E. Wilson St., according to a recent press release. The event will take place from 4–7 p.m.

The Youth Drop-In Center is part of the organization’s Unhoused Youth Initiative, launched in March. The initiative is Dane County’s and Wisconsin’s first Unhoused Youth Initiative that includes a drop-in center, a shelter opening winter of 2023 for youth between the ages of 17.5 and 24 with children, and transitional housing opportunities like rapid re-housing and scattered sites housing.

Urban Triage’s “Urban Youth Center” will offer support with resumes, job placements, essential needs, trauma recovery, housing navigation support, permanent housing, food, and case management.

The goal of opening the Youth Drop-In Center and launching the Unhoused Youth Initiative is to provide community resources and services to vulnerable youth experiencing homelessness, imminent homelessness, or housing insecurity.
