Unions lose right-to-work suit, for now

Citing a decision from the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals that upheld Indiana’s right-to-work law, U.S. District Court Judge J.P. Stadtmueller of the Eastern District of Wisconsin in Milwaukee threw out a lawsuit from labor unions challenging the legality of Wisconsin’s right-to-work legislation, or Act 1, which was enacted in March 2015.

An attorney representing the unions says an appeal will be filed.

Several months ago, a Dane County judge ruled right-to-work was unconstitutional, and that decision was put on hold by an appeals court. That appeal is still pending.
