Ukrainian restaurant to open in Union Corners development 

According to the Wisconsin State Journal, a new Ukrainian restaurant called Touch of Ukraine is opening in the Union Corners development on Madison’s east side.

Two of the restaurant’s partners are Ukrainian refugees, and a third, who was a lawyer in Ukraine, moved to the U.S. 16 months ago prior to the Russian invasion. Gary Gorman, founder and chairman of the board of directors for Union Corners developer Gorman and Company, offered to sponsor 11 Ukrainian refugees from Zaporizhzhia.

Tetiana Yermolova will be the chef of the new restaurant, which will offer traditional Ukrainian cuisine among some American fare and be open for lunch and dinner. Kateryna Temchenko will be the manager of the new space in addition to serving and tending bar. Inesa Zolotarenko will bartend as well.

Touch of Ukraine will be located at 2438 Winnebago St. Pending city permits, the partners hope to open the restaurant by July 6.
