Two more State Street renovation proposals floated

Sean Baxter is hoping to remake a four-story building at 222-224 State Street in Madison. His proposal involves revamping a front façade that would include bay windows and balconies, keeping first floor retail, and converting upper floors to nine apartments. Baxter’s plan still needs Urban Design Commission approval.

Meanwhile, M&A Real Estate Partners is looking at a two-story addition and basement renovation on the 600 block, next to the Towers apartments. That renovation would create three floors of retail and replace a parking lot that currently faces State Street. M&A’s plan already has the approvals it needs.
