Two free years offered to keep World Dairy Expo
Dane County has proposed a 10-year contract extension to the World Dairy Expo to keep the international trade show at the Alliant Energy Center, according to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal.
The proposal offers the 2021 and 2022 events at no cost to the expo for them to recoup losses from the canceled 2020 event. The agricultural convention and exposition have an estimated annual economic impact of more than $45 million. In part due to the county’s COVID-19-related restrictions, the expo recently solicited proposals for alternative locations. The proposed contract would need to be approved by the World Dairy Expo board and the county board.
