Three of four local HMOs lose money

Dean Health Plan made $1.1 million in 2012, while the other large HMOs in Dane County lost millions. Physicians Plus lost $30.3 million, Group Health Cooperative lost $5.5 million, and Unity lost $113,000, according to reports filed with the national Association of Insurance Commissioners.
