Taking it to the streets

During their June session, Leadership Greater Madison 26 participants took to the sidewalks to explore how neighborhoods help determine and impact the social, physical, emotional, economic, and environmental well-being of the people who live, work, and play there. They learned how Centro Hispano serves the Hispanic community, and thanks to neighborhood hosts, they explored neighborhoods on Madison’s south, near east, near west, and north sides, and downtown. Speakers and guides included: Evelyn Cruz with Centro Hispano, Brewer Stouffer from Roman Candle, Jon Lica with the Goodman Community Center, Mark Schmitz with Zebradog Studios, Jason Ilstrup with DMI, Abha Thakkar with Northside Planning Council, and Oscar Mireles with Omega School.
