Sun Prairie Plan Commission backs multiple new businesses

If the Sun Prairie City Council approves all of the Sun Prairie Plan Commission’s March 14 recommendations, the community could soon be home to a new medical clinic, its third Starbucks, Anytime Fitness, Dave’s Guitar Shop, and a Cousins Subs, according to a report from the Sun Prairie Star.

Sun Prairie’s third Starbucks would be located next to the UW Health Clinic and just north of Walgreens near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Windsor Street.

Cousins Subs plans to begin construction on May 22 on a 2,080-square-foot location just off Schneider Road in the Pumpkin Patch development.

Dave’s Guitar Shop will be remodeling the former Market Street Diner at 110 Market St. and plans to open in late summer if its request is approved. The Sun Prairie store will be a relocation of Dave’s Guitar Shops’ Fitchburg location, which is out of space.

Anytime Fitness franchise owner Andy Gundlach plans to construct a new building at the corners of Windsor, Montana, and Thompson on the city’s west side to relocate from his McCoy Road facility. Two other retail spaces will also be located in the building, according to the plans.

Due to the popularity of its clinics in Columbus and Beaver Dam, Prairie Ridge Health will construct a 20,000-square-foot clinic as the first phase of what could be a 76,000-square-foot facility at 2365 W. Main St.
