Study: Madison most livable city in U.S.
Madison is the most livable city in the nation, according to Livability.com’s second annual Top 100 Places to Live study, which compared data on 2,000 cities with populations between 20,000 and 350,000. Last year, Madison came in fifth, which reportedly prompted Mayor Paul Soglin to form a committee to improve the ranking without adding to the city budget.
Livability.com compared 40 different data points, including economics, housing, transportation, health care, and education. The site then weighted them against a survey asking people which factors made their communities better.
