Study: Madison and Wisconsin rank low for child care workers

A new study looking at the U.S. locations with the greatest lack of child care workers found that Madison has the 15th fewest child care workers out of 250 U.S. metros and Wisconsin has the third-fewest among all states. Researchers ranked metros by the number of children per child care worker and found that the Madison metro area has 202.2 children under 14 for every child care worker, compared to 122.9 per worker nationally. Wisconsin has 241 children under 14 for every child care worker.
