Stratatech lab expands
Local bioscience company Stratatech announced an expanded $28 million production facility on Madison’s west side.
The new 35,000-square-foot lab triples the company’s space in University Research Park where 80 employees work on StrataGraft, a lab-engineered skin tissue for victims of severe burns including the unthinkable — burns from a nuclear attack, according to a Capital Times report.
The company was founded in 2001 and acquired by United Kingdom-based Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals in 2016. Clinical trials of StrataGraft are in their final stages, and barring any setbacks, the company hopes to gain FDA approval by 2020.
