Stoughton gives go-ahead for Walmart Supercenter

A proposed development in Stoughton that will include a Walmart Supercenter will move forward after a joint review board approved $7.4 million in TIF for the project.

Located at the corner of Hwys. 138 and 51, the project, proposed by Forward Development Group, would be named Kettle Park West and would incorporate commercial, retail, and residential development.

The Stoughton City Council deadlocked 3-3, but the tie was broken by Stoughton Mayor Donna Olson, raising the ire of many in the community who oppose the TIF plan and, in some cases, the Walmart Supercenter.
