Statewide: Home sales down, prices up

A low inventory of existing homes has pushed median sale prices higher across the state, according to the Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA).

Compared to July 2016, the number of homes sold statewide was off 5% while median home sales increased 5.9% to $180,000 statewide.

Dane County recorded a 5.9% increase in home sales, from 917 in July 2016 to 923 this year, and its median price also increased in the past year, from $255,000 to $270,000.
