State unemployment drops to 12%

Last month, the Wisconsin unemployment rate dropped slightly to 12%, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics preliminary data from the Department of Workforce Development. The state unemployment rate was 13.6% in April.

The national labor participation rate is 60.8%, almost six points lower than Wisconsin’s rate of 66.6%.
