State issues order to expand health care workforce

Gov. Tony Evers and Wisconsin Department of Health Service Secretary-designee Andrea Palm have issued an emergency order to provide some relief for health care staffing shortages in the state, according to a release from the administration.

The new order provides for temporary interstate license reciprocity for health care providers to work in Wisconsin medical facilities, extends licenses that may expire during the federal emergency declaration for 30 days after its conclusion, and makes it easier for health care providers with a recently lapsed license to apply for reinstatement with the Department of Safety and Professional Services.
