State companies receive more than $9 billion in private equity investments

Private equity investors poured $9.1 billion into a total of 47 Wisconsin companies in 2012, according to a report from the Private Equity Growth Capital Council. As a result, the state currently ranks 14th nationwide in total private equity investments. Texas led the pack, with a combined $46.6 billion in investments. Nationally, $347 billion was invested in more than 2,000 companies.
