Sports training complex moving to DeForest
Greg Reinhard, owner of GRB Academy, a 14,000-square-foot indoor baseball training facility on Madison’s east side, plans to expand to a 52,000-square-foot, $3 million baseball and softball facility in DeForest this winter.
The new space will also offer a full-sized infield with 30-foot ceilings that will allow for live-action games.
Reinhard hopes to attract major travel tournaments and thousands of fans to the area, something that reportedly hasn’t happened due to a lack of suitable outdoor facilities. But that might be changing.
Not far from GRB’s new facility, DeForest officials are finalizing plans for a $2 million to $3 million 20-acre athletic complex with four baseball and softball diamonds, football fields, and tennis courts, and Windsor is also planning to beef up its sports field offerings.
