Sport Bowl owners skim from machines
Dudley and Cherie Hellenbrand, owners and operators of the Middleton Sport Bowl since 1997, admitted to skimming 75 percent of profits from video gaming machines they had in their bar. The couple also falsified tax returns to underrepresent the income from the machines, according to a NBC15 report.
The U.S. Department of Justice reports the couple skimmed $268,852 between 2010 and 2017 and used the money to purchase personal expenditures, trips, and pay some employee wages. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 3.
