Spectrum reports $54M in profit

Madison-based Spectrum Brands reported profits of $54.3 million ($1.03/share) on revenues of $1.1 billion for the first fiscal quarter ending Dec. 29. That compares to a net loss of $13.4 million (26 cents/share) on sales of $870.3 million a year ago.
