Soglin suggests cameras for all convenience stores

Madison Mayor Paul Soglin is proposing that all convenience stores in the city be required to have high-resolution security cameras on site monitoring the goings-on in multiple areas of the stores.

High-quality video would need to be kept for at least 30 days to help police should any criminal activity arise.

According to an article in the Wisconsin State Journal, the initial response from a representative of the National Association of Convenience Stores was tepid, but the Madison Police Department supports the idea.
