Slightly more moving out of Wisconsin than moving in
Atlas Van Lines’ annual migration study tracking interstate moves shows Wisconsin’s inbound and outbound residential moves were nearly even in 2017.
There were 1,094 shipments out of the state, and 1,069 into the state, which Atlas considers “balanced.”
Using Atlas’ definitions, inbound means more than 55% of total shipments are into the state; outbound means more than 55% of shipments are leaving the state; and balanced means inbound and outbound individually represent 55% or less of total shipments.
Idaho is attracting new residents at the fastest clip according to this study, while Illinois saw the most outbound moves.
