Sitka Salmon Shares opens at Garver

Madison’s first Community Supported Fishery (CSF), Sitka Salmon Shares, opens its new Good-Fish Hub this weekend at the newly renovated Garver Feed Mill, at 3241 Garver Green in Madison.

The business is partnering with Underground Catering to host a grand opening dinner featuring Alaskan seafood paired with the seasonal harvest of Midwest farms on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. It will be the first public event held at Garver, where an Ian’s Pizza and Calliope Ice Cream recently opened. Tickets can be purchased at Eventbrite. Attendees must be at least 21 years old and parking is very limited due to ongoing construction at the site.

As a CSF, Sitka Salmon Shares delivers wild-caught, sustainable Alaskan seafood from its small-boat fishermen straight to its members’ doorsteps. Members purchase “shares” of the Sitka harvest prior to fishing season and receive a monthly home seafood delivery — their “share” — in return.
