Semba Biosciences gets $3M investment

Tosoh Bioscience of Japan has agreed to invest $3 million in Semba Biosciences of Madison. Eventually Tosoh, which has a U.S. headquarters in Pennsylvania, will purchase Semba in its entirety. Semba makes purification systems for the life sciences industry.

According to a BizTimes article, Kegonsa Capital Partners of Madison is the majority owner of Semba Biosciences, and with this latest news, Tosoh Bioscience holds the second-largest ownership stake. The company is expected to remain in Madison.
