Sears’ future in doubt

Sears Holdings Corp. lost more than $2 billion last year and signaled warning signs for the retailer’s future, according to an Associated Press report.

Sears, which also owns Kmart, has been selling off assets, such as its Craftsman tool brand, but the stores have been hurt over the years by competitors like Target and Wal-Mart.

Sears has which been around since the 1880s and employs 140,000 people nationwide. Its Chairman and CEO Edward Lampert also owns Dodgeville-based Lands’ End, which was a part of Sears for 12 years until 2014.
