As telecommunication customers shift from landlines to wireless options, companies such as AT&T have adapted to meet mobile broadband demands.

Under the leadership of Scott VanderSanden, AT&T addressed these industry challenges and expanded its wireless network within the state. He led efforts to support the Telecommunications Modernization Act of 2011, the first major revision of the statutes regulating telecommunications since 1994, which further deregulated the industry in an effort to adapt to changes in telecom commerce.
