Rowheels Inc. raises $610,000 in new investments

Rowheels Inc., the Fitchburg manufacturer of specialized wheelchairs that feature new way of being propelled by users, recently raised $610,000 of a planned $1.6 million funding round, according to its filing with U.S. securities regulators. The filing reveals Rowheels raised the money from two investors.

Rowheels was co-founded by Rimas Buinevicius, former top executive of Sonic Foundry Inc. The company’s wheelchairs feature a geared wheeling system that allows users to propel their wheelchair with a pulling instead of a pushing motion.
