Rotary Club of Madison announces Jerry Deschane as speaker at upcoming luncheon

The Rotary Club of Madison announced that the speaker for its Wednesday, Sept. 6 luncheon at the Park Hotel is Jerry Deschane. Deschane — presenting Shared Revenue: The Art and Agony of Political Compromise — is the executive director of the League of Wisconsin Municipalities. One of the bright spots in the recently-completed state budget debate was a substantial, once-in-a-generation increase in state support of local government services. Deschane will share an insider perspective on how the governor and lawmakers were able to find common ground and even break new ground in sustaining essential local services.

Members of the press are welcome to attend the Rotary Club of Madison’s meeting for lunch as a guest of the club. Suggested lunch arrival time for media is 11:50 a.m. The club’s general business meeting begins at 12:10 p.m. The speaker’s presentation will begin at approximately 12:35 p.m. and will conclude by 1:05 p.m.
