Rocky’s expands, iconic Greenbush Bakery to move
The Greenbush Bakery on Regent Street will soon be replaced by a bookstore, bar, and restaurant, tentatively named Leopold’s, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal.
Sam Brown, owner of the Rocky Rococo’s pizzeria next door (in the same building as Greenbush) at 1301 Regent St., will be expanding into the bakery’s space with a new, tri-concept business modeled after a Washington, D.C. hotspot.
Greenbush Bakery, which is owned by Marv Miller and his wife, will continue serving the late-night doughnut crowd from its current location until its lease expires on Aug. 31. Miller hopes its new home, in the Regent Apartments just a block away, will open on Sept. 1.
Greenbush Bakery also has a second location on High Crossing Boulevard on the Far East Side.
