Revenues up, net income down at Alliant

Alliant, parent of Wisconsin Power & Light, Madison, reported higher revenues but slightly lower net income compared to 2012 in the second quarter ending June 30. Net income came in at $65.3 million (59 cents/share) on revenues of $718 million. That compares to net income of $65.9 million (60 cents/share) on revenues of $690.3 million a year ago. Still, the utility company beat analysts’ expectations for the quarter of 55 cents/share and revenues of $683.1 million.
