Report shows Wisconsin’s median home price increased more than 150% over last decade
According to WisBusiness, a new report from UW–Madison’s Division of Extension shows Wisconsin’s median home price increased from $112,800 to $285,500 from April 2012–April 2023 — an increase of 153.1%.
The failure of new housing in the state to keep up with demand over the period has driven up home prices for owners and renters alike.
The report includes a month-to-month breakdown of median sales price growth rates among Midwest states. Between 2012 and 2023, that rate was 0.89% for Wisconsin, 0.72% for Illinois, 0.56% for Iowa, 0.75% for Minnesota, and 0.95% for Michigan.
